Meta Pixel Notice: This site uses Meta (Facebook) Pixel for analytics and advertising purposes. By using DIY-SiteCALL, you acknowledge that pixel tracking may be active on our pages. You can opt out via Meta's Ad Preferences.

DIY-SiteCALL, Inc. ("DIY-SiteCALL," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use DIY-SiteCALL:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, and phone number provided when submitting a service request or signing up as a contractor.
  • Service Request Data: Descriptions of your home improvement project, photos or images you upload, trade type, and any notes you submit.
  • Call Session Data: Session duration, contractor selected, call start/end times, and billing amounts (cost per minute). We do not record audio or video of consultations by default.
  • Payment Information: DIY-SiteCALL processes payments through third-party payment processors. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Payment metadata (transaction IDs, amounts, timestamps) may be retained for billing records.
  • Contractor Application Data: Trade, specialty, years of experience, city, state, and contact information provided during contractor sign-up.
  • Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, pages visited, referral source, and device type collected automatically through server logs and analytics tools.
  • Cookies & Tracking Pixels: We use cookies and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure advertising effectiveness and understand user behavior. See Section 5 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To connect homeowners with contractors and facilitate video consultations
  • To process payments and maintain billing records
  • To communicate service updates, booking confirmations, and support responses
  • To improve platform features and user experience
  • To measure marketing effectiveness via Meta Pixel and other analytics tools
  • To verify contractor qualifications and manage our contractor marketplace
  • To comply with applicable laws and prevent fraud

3. Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by our infrastructure partners (Render, Neon PostgreSQL). We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Service request data and session logs are retained for up to 3 years for billing and dispute resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).

4. Third-Party Sharing

We share your information with the following categories of third parties:

  • Contractors: Your name, project description, and photos are shared with the contractor you select for your consultation.
  • Payment Processors: Billing data is shared with our payment processing partners to complete transactions.
  • Analytics Providers: Anonymized or aggregated usage data is shared with Meta (Facebook) and similar platforms for advertising analytics.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or government authority.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

DIY-SiteCALL uses the following tracking technologies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic site functionality and session management.
  • Meta Pixel (ID: 1479818233694977): Tracks page views and conversion events for Meta advertising campaigns. Meta may use this data in accordance with their own data policy. You can opt out via Meta Ad Preferences or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
  • Analytics Cookies: Used to understand site usage patterns and improve the platform.

6. Call Recordings

DIY-SiteCALL does not automatically record video consultations. If recording functionality is offered in the future, users will be notified before a session begins and required to consent. Contractors are prohibited from recording sessions without explicit consent from all parties.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications or pixel tracking at any time.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format (where technically feasible).

8. Children's Privacy

DIY-SiteCALL is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us personal information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email (if provided) or a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of DIY-SiteCALL after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Important: DIY-SiteCALL provides access to licensed contractors for guidance and advice only. Consultations conducted through this platform are not a substitute for on-site professional inspections, licensed contractor work, or required building permits.

1. Guidance Only — Not a Substitute for Licensed Work

Video consultations provided through DIY-SiteCALL are intended to offer general guidance, advice, and information to assist DIY homeowners with home improvement projects. This guidance does not constitute professional engineering advice, a formal inspection, or a licensed contractor's assessment.

Any work that requires a permit, licensed contractor, or certified professional under applicable local, state, or federal law must be performed by a qualified, licensed individual. DIY-SiteCALL consultations do not fulfill these requirements.

2. Contractor Independence

Contractors available on the DIY-SiteCALL platform are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, or representatives of DIY-SiteCALL, Inc. DIY-SiteCALL operates as a marketplace that facilitates connections between homeowners and contractors.

  • DIY-SiteCALL does not employ, supervise, or control the work of contractors listed on the platform.
  • Contractors are responsible for the accuracy and quality of their advice.
  • DIY-SiteCALL does not verify, warrant, or guarantee any contractor's license status, insurance, professional qualifications, or competence beyond the information provided during onboarding.
  • Homeowners are encouraged to independently verify contractor credentials before undertaking any physical work based on consultation advice.

3. No Guarantee of Outcomes

DIY-SiteCALL makes no warranties or representations regarding:

  • The outcome of any home improvement project undertaken based on consultation advice
  • The accuracy, completeness, or fitness of advice provided by contractors
  • The availability of any specific contractor at any given time
  • The continued operation of the platform without interruption

All advice provided through DIY-SiteCALL is offered on an "as-is" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DIY-SiteCALL, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any personal injury, property damage, or financial loss resulting from following advice given during a DIY-SiteCALL consultation
  • Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in contractor advice
  • Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform
  • Any outcome of work performed by contractors introduced through the platform

In no event shall DIY-SiteCALL's total liability to you exceed the total amount paid by you to DIY-SiteCALL in the 12 months preceding the claim.

5. Payment Terms

Consultations are billed on a per-minute basis at the rate displayed on the contractor's profile. By initiating a call session, you authorize DIY-SiteCALL to charge your payment method for the duration of the consultation.

  • Rates are set by individual contractors and may vary.
  • Billing begins when a session is confirmed as active.
  • Partial minutes may be rounded up to the nearest minute.
  • Refunds are not automatically issued for completed sessions. Disputes may be submitted to support@diy-sitecall.app within 48 hours of a session.

6. Permits & Code Compliance

DIY-SiteCALL consultations do not constitute permit applications, inspections, or code compliance certifications. Before undertaking any home improvement project, verify with your local building authority whether permits are required. Failure to obtain required permits can result in fines, required removal of work, or complications when selling your home.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DIY-SiteCALL, Inc. and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or any work undertaken based on consultation advice.

Terms of Service

By accessing or using DIY-SiteCALL (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Who We Are

DIY-SiteCALL is a video consultation marketplace operated by DIY-SiteCALL, Inc., based in Seattle, WA. The platform connects homeowners with licensed independent contractors for real-time video consultations on home improvement projects.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use DIY-SiteCALL. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this requirement. Contractors must also comply with all applicable licensing and registration requirements in their jurisdiction.

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of DIY-SiteCALL, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information when submitting service requests or creating accounts
  • Use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not misrepresent your identity or the nature of your project
  • Treat contractors with respect during consultations
  • Not record video sessions without explicit consent of all parties
  • Pay for services rendered in accordance with the displayed rates

4. Acceptable Use Policy

The following uses of DIY-SiteCALL are strictly prohibited:

  • Using the platform to harass, threaten, or abuse contractors or other users
  • Submitting false, fraudulent, or misleading service requests
  • Attempting to circumvent the platform's billing system by arranging off-platform payments
  • Scraping, copying, or reproducing platform content without written consent
  • Using the platform for any illegal activity or to solicit illegal work
  • Impersonating any person or entity
  • Uploading malicious code, files, or content

5. Contractor Terms

Contractors using DIY-SiteCALL agree to additional obligations:

  • Provide accurate information about licenses, certifications, and qualifications
  • Offer advice only within areas of genuine expertise
  • Clearly communicate when a project is outside the scope of remote guidance
  • Comply with all applicable professional codes of conduct
  • Not solicit clients for off-platform work to circumvent DIY-SiteCALL's fee structure

6. Payments & Billing

DIY-SiteCALL charges on a per-minute basis for consultations. By initiating a session, you authorize the applicable charge. Payment processing is handled by third-party processors subject to their terms. All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise noted.

DIY-SiteCALL reserves the right to adjust contractor rates with reasonable notice. Rate changes do not apply retroactively to sessions already in progress.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the DIY-SiteCALL platform — including the name, logo, design, and software — is the property of DIY-SiteCALL, Inc. or its licensors. You may not use, copy, modify, or distribute any platform content without our prior written consent.

By submitting content (project descriptions, photos, reviews), you grant DIY-SiteCALL a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content to operate and improve the platform.

8. Reviews & Ratings

Users may submit reviews of contractors following a completed session. Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience. DIY-SiteCALL reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms, contain false information, or are otherwise inappropriate.

9. Platform Availability

DIY-SiteCALL does not guarantee uninterrupted service availability. We may conduct maintenance, implement updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any losses arising from platform downtime.

10. Termination

DIY-SiteCALL reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion. Terminated users are still liable for any fees incurred prior to termination.

11. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between you and DIY-SiteCALL, you agree to first contact us at support@diy-sitecall.app to attempt informal resolution. If informal resolution fails:

  • Binding Arbitration: Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), except where prohibited by law.
  • Class Action Waiver: You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits against DIY-SiteCALL.
  • Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  • Venue: Any court proceedings (where permitted) shall take place in King County, Washington.

12. Modifications to Terms

DIY-SiteCALL reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or platform notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
